Intro to Hand Embroidery

Description of Class

Come and learn one of the most beautiful visual arts!! In this class we will be using #8 perle cotton on wool. Students will learn basic embroidery stitches: Back Stitch, Buttonhole Stitch, Colonial Knot, Feather Stitch, Fly Stitch, French Knot, Lazy Daisy Stitch, Outline Stitch and Stem Stitch. We will then incorporate those stitches into an Initial of their choice that can be framed, made into a pillow or incorporated into a quilt block.

Fabric Requirements:
Everything is included in the kit: Hoop, needles, wool, doodle cloth, #8 Perle Cotton & Patterns for all the letters of the alphabet plus a couple of surprises!

Cutting Instructions:
No cutting or pre-work needed.

Supplies needed:
I suggest bringing extra lighting and a small pair of scissors.
